The past twelve months were certainly challenging, with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, raising energy prices and wages, ongoing supply chain issues and a steep increase of interest rates and credit spreads combined with more restrictive bank lending.
“Prediction is very difficult, especially if it’s about the future” (Niels Bohr), however we expect the challenges to continue in the coming year, with a high probability of a recession in Europe and the US as well as further increasing interest rates. These are certainly not the economic conditions we have hoped for but in this tough environment we can make a big difference for our clients in need for debt financings, and we look forward to continuing our journey in 2023 and beyond.
